GO DIRECTLY TO ZIP SLIDE HOLSTERS NOW ALSO AVAILABLE FOR CERTAIN SPRINGFIELD XD, SIGARMS, HK AND BERETTA MODELS.The Zip Slide holster was designed more than 25 years ago by our president, , as an adaptation of the classic "Yaqui" belt slide holster, but with the added water-resistance of nylon and a quick-detach ability. It is a straight-drop, minimalist beltslide holster constructed with a tough 1000D Cordura nylon skin wrapped around a heat-molded polymer core. It is sewn and molded to the specific type of weapon, so the pistol or revolver is retained by a good friction fit when properly "pinched" upon reholstering (because of this we do not recommend it for securing weapons other than the one it specifically was made for).
The Zip Slide attaches to belts up to 1-3/4" wide via two quick-release wraparound straps using hook-and-loop closures with security tabs. It's easy to put on or take off (even with your belt on, but loosened), yet rock-solid and secure when in place -- unlike some other overly detachable systems.
Ever-popular with Gunsite instructors and CCW carriers for two decades, the Zip Slide has withstood the test of time and continues to improve with subtle design upgrades and an expanded list of compatible weapons.

The Zip Slide does not work well with extremely high or sharp front sight blades. Factory sights and most aftermarket sights such as Heinie, Novak, XS and similar fit with no problem. Nylon, Kydex/Concealex and horsehide holsters can be very tough on fine blued finishes due to dust and grit abrasion. If normal utilitarian holster wear on your gun's finish is likely to be an issue, you may want to consider a standard cowhide holster (or different finish on your gun).
As with all classic belt slide designs, the Zip Slide does not cover the rear of the trigger guard behind the trigger, but does cover and protect access to the trigger when the weapon is "pinched" upon reholstering and is correctly seated.
Being a straight-drop belt slide design, the Zip Slide is not recommended for behind the hip or small of the back carry.
The Zip Slide can be custom-made for some other weapon models not listed, but we need to have the weapon on-site at our Phoenix production facility if we do not have in-house originals or dummy guns to mold from. If you are in the area, or are going to be, please call us for more fitting information and scheduling.
The Zip Slide design cannot be correctly manufactured to fit and secure all frame or triggerguard shapes. We are continually evaluating new guns and adding new models to our standard production line, but we will not make a version if we do not find it's retention suitable with a particular firearm.
Please note that due to the minimalist belt slide design we do not recommend the Zip Slide for handguns with light rails other than the Glock and HK at this time. The rails on some pistols can change the frame dimensions significantly and may potentially catch on the holster during the drawstroke. We have not had the chance to certify railed Sig, Beretta or 1911 pistols at this time, but will post results when we make a final determination.
WARNING:Mishandling of firearms may cause serious injury or death. Before practicing with your product, make sure your weapon is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction. Study how it attaches and how it will move when in use. If the product interferes with the safe operation or handling of the weapon, discontinue use. For further safety considerations, consult the owner's manual of your weapon and seek professional assistance. |
